ESG 평가정보 및 이익관리가 기업가치에 미치는 영향

[연구목적]본 연구는 사회적 책임경영 수준을 나타내는 ESG 평가정보 및 경영자의 이익관리가 기업가치에 어떠한 영향을 미치고 있는지를 실증적으로 규명하고자 한다. [연구방법]선행연구의 검토를 통하여 연구가설 4개를 선정하였으며, 실증분석을 위한 재무자료는 Data Guide Pro, 그리고 SRI Index 자료는 한국거래소의 자료를 이용하였다. 수집된 자료의 통계적 분석은 회귀분석 등으로 가설을 검증하였다. [연구결과]연구결과, ESG 평가정보가 ESG 통합부문과 지배구조부문을 제외하고는 기업가치에 양(＋)의 영향을 미치고 있었다. 이익관리가 기업가치에 미치는 영향은 가정한 바와 달리 양(＋)의 영향이며, Jones－ROA 모형(2005)의 검증결과는 수정Jones 모형(1995)의 결과보다는 더 양호한 검증결과를 보여준다. ESG 평가수준에 따라 이익관리가 기업가치에 미치는 영향을 수정Jones 모형과 Jones－ROA 모형으로 검증한 결과는 차이가 있었다. 또한 이익관리 수준에 따라 ESG 평가정보가 기업가치에 미치는 영향을 수정Jones 모형과 Jones－ROA 모형으로 검증한 결과도 차이가 있었다. [연구의 시사점]본 연구는 기업을 둘러싼 이해관계자들이 기업의 사회적 책임, 윤리경영을 성실히 수행하고 있는가를 감시하고, 기업이 적극적으로 지속가능경영을 수행하도록 동기부여를 하는데 사회적 기여를 할 것이다.
Abstract
[Purpose]This study investigates empirically the correlation between earnings management and business value using the evaluation information of Korea Corporate Governance Service and Korea Exchange. [Methodology]Four hypotheses were drawn from the previous researches. To verify these hypotheses, financial data were collected through Data Guide Pro, and SRI indexes were collected through The Korea Exchange(KRX). The data were tested by regression analysis. [Findings]Unlike the prediction in consistent with prior studies, earnings management has a positive influence on business value, and the results show that the Jones－ROA model(1995) is superior to the modified Jones model(2005). There are no differences between the results of the modified Jones model(1995) those of the Jones－ROA model(2005) to analyze an influence between earnings management and business value by ESG rating levels. Also, there are no differences between the results of the modified Jones model(1995) those of the Jones－ROA model(2005) to analyze an influence between ESG evaluation information and business value by earnings management levels. [Implications]This study will make a great social contribution to interested parties and business for very important problems surrounding business that is social responsibility of business and moral management.
