초록
Malachi promotes a strict marriage policy that prohibits mixed marriages. They are understood as unclean, disturbing the service of God. The idea of God’s people as family ties the people together, creates a specific kind of identity and makes questions of genealogy even more important. It is the aim of this article to have a look on the interrelatedness of prophetical predications on intermarriage and divorce on the one hand and the political and socio-economical situation in Judah of the Persian period on the other hand. It shows that Malachi has a strong opinion on intermarriage and divorce, for good reasons. Yet, there are other voices in Persian times Judaism.
