본 연구의 목적은 대학 재학생들의 창업을 촉진시키기 위한 영향요인을 도출하고, 이를 통하여 대학생들의 창업을 적극적으로 독려할 수 있는 정책적 시사점을 탐색하는 데 있다. 오늘날, 창조경제를 강조하는 사회적 분위기에 영향을 받아, 대학생 창업에 관한 연구가 많이 이루어지고 있다. 대학 혹은 정부기관에서 제공하는 창업지원정책의 의의나 한계를 다룬 연구는 많이 이루어져 왔지만, 실제로 이러한 지원정책 및 제도들이 어떻게 대학생 창업의 증감에 기여했는지를 보여주는 연구는 많이 이루어지고 있지 않다. 본 연구는 이러한 문제 인식 하에 고등교육기관의 현 창업지원요소들이 실제 대학생 창업에 구체적으로 어떻게 영향을 주는지, 그리고 대학생창업 활성화를 하는 데 있어 가장 효과적인 요소들은 무엇인지 탐색하고자 한다. 이러한 연구를 통해서 대학생 창업가들한테는 자신들의 사업을 더욱 발전하기 위해서 구체적으로 어떤 종류의 지원을 받아야 하는지에 대한 가이드라인을 제공할 수 있으며, 대학 및 관련기관들에게는 어떠한 형태의 창업지원을 해야 가장 효과적일 수 있는 지에 대한 정보를 제공해 줄 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This article attempts to analyze factors affecting start-ups of undergraduates in Korea using regression analysis, to identify main factors associated with it, and to suggest policy measures reinforcing willingness of undergraduates to establish business during or after their student life. To this end, regression analysis was employed. Sample size for analysis was 105 universities about which relevant data is avaliable. Theoretically and practically, many factors are associated with start-ups of university students. The analysis results show that among other things, university-assisted support programs for students to be able to establish a business such as support for students’ start-up club, support through curriculum offered have affected strongly success or failure of start-ups of undergraduates. It is hoped that decision-makers in government and university need to put emphasis on the importance of curriculum change for students and support for students-initiated start-up club so that they could be strongly motivated to establish business during or after their university life.
