형 집행 단계에서 첨단과학기술의 활용

The theme of 2016 World Economic forum in Davos is the “Fourth Industrial Revolution”, led by new technologies. The promises of the Fourth Industrial Revolution contain the developments of artificial intelligence, robotics, the Internet of Things(IoT), 3D printing and biotechnology. The successful implementation of these new technologies can help to increase the global productivity. Since the early adapter’s in the fourth-generation already asks responsible actions to be prepared for the new changes, it is necessary to start a discussion to implement those techniques in the respective fields, including criminal law and criminology. It is crucial that these implementation should maximize the benefits from advanced technology, while minimizing the negative impacts. In particular, lack of human resources and facilities has long been a major problem in the field of corrections and rehabilitation, therefore the related work fields need to be done in more scientifically and technologically, in order to achieve goals in correction, rehabilitation and the protection of society. This dissertation first examines the current status and the legal issues on the introduction of new technology into the corrections and rehabilitation. Furthermore it asks the potential application of advanced technology and legal issues.
