영주귀국 사할린 한인의 귀환 이후 삶과 적응과정에 대한 분석 -부산 정관 신도시 사례를 중심으로-

The goal of this study is to analyze the lives of permanent Korean returnees from Sakhalin and their adaptation process using a narrative method. In particular, this study analyzes the homing consciousness, the meaning of permanent returning from Sakhalin, focusing on the transnational lives in Korea Following analyses of oral histories of the selected 7 Korean returnees from Sakhalin in Jeong-gwan, Busan city, most important criteria permanent Korean returnees were the birthday of August 15, 1945 and the position of the first generation of Koreans in Sakhalin. This means that only people who were born before August 15, 1945 and their spouse could acquire their qualification to come back to their homeland. In addition it points out importance of the homing consciousness vicariously experienced by their parents as what Benedict Anderson called Imagined Communities. Particularly permanent homecoming brings out another family separation, leaving a deep scar in one’s memory. In addition, their identities have formed around the recipients of the basic living security and pension outside Sakhalin at the same time. Finally, permanent Korean returnees have been creating another life world by trying to keep in contact with remained family in Sakhalin, known as an ongoing transnational lives and social interactions.
