고등학교 ‘법과 정치’ 교과서에서의 노동인권교육 내용 분석

본 연구는 고등학교 사회과 과목 중에서도 법교육을 담당하고 있는 ‘법과 정치’ 교과서의 노동인권교육 내용을 분석하여 향후 노동인권교육의 목표 실현과 교과서 개선에 도움을 주고자 하였다. 고등학교 ‘법과 정치’ 교과서의 노동인권 단원의 내용에 대하여 양적 분석을 실시하였으며, 교과서의 ‘본문’, ‘학습 활동’, ‘사진 및 삽화’ 3가지 영역에서 질적 분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, ‘법과 정치’ 3종의 교과서에서 노동인권을 담당하는 단원의 분량이 절대적으로 적었다. 또한, ‘내용 타당성’ 면에서 교과서들은 노동인권교육의 목표를 충실히 반영하는 데 다소 부족하였다. ‘학습 가능성’ 면에서는 학습자 수준을 고려하면 다소 어려운 측면이 있어 학습 가능성이 떨어졌다. 내용 적절성’ 면에서는 학습 영역이 지식에 편중되는 등 다소 적절하지 못한 측면이 있었다. ‘일관성’ 면에서는 사회문화현상의 실제적 반영이 다소 부실하였다. ‘법과 정치’ 교과서가 노동인권교육 목표에 충실할 수 있으려면 법조문 위주의 지식 전달보다는 학습자의 흥미와 관심을 높일 수 있도록 실제 사례 중심으로 내용을 구성하고, 학습자가 현재 경험하거나 앞으로 경험하게 될 노동 현장에서 발생하기 쉬운 노동 문제들을 폭넓게 다루어야 할 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to help the improvement of labor rights education through an analysis of high school “Law and Politics” textbooks- which deals with the law education, directly addresses the labor rights. This study has performed a quantitative analysis on the labor rights unit of “Law and Politics” textbook. And then performed a qualitative analysis on the 3 domains: ‘main texts’, ‘learning activities’ and ‘photos and illustrations’ in the textbook. The results showed that the proportion of the units addressing the labor rights was too small in 3 types of “Law and Politics” textbooks. In addition, regarding Sowell's standard of ‘validity’, the textbooks did not reflect the objectives of labor rights education faithfully. In ‘learnability’, textbooks had some difficulty considering the level of learners, which degraded the learnability. And, the textbooks lay too much importance on knowledge in learning, indicating inadequate appropriateness. In ‘consistency’, the social and cultural phenomena were inadequately reflected.
