청소년의 사회적 지지, 사회적 책무성 및 학교 적응 간의 관계

본 연구에서는 청소년을 대상으로 성별에 따른 사회적 지지, 사회적 책무성 및 학교 적응 차이 그리고 사회적 지지가 사회적 책무성과 학교 적응에 미치는 직·간접적 효과를 탐색 하였다. 본 연구의 최종 분석 대상은 서울시 4개구에 소재한 고등학교의 재학생 총 812명이었다. 본 연구 결과, 사회적 지지의 하위요인인‘교사’요인은 남학생이 높은 것으로 나타났으며‘또래’요인은 여학생이 높았고, 사회적 책무성의 하위요인인‘배려’요인은 남학생이 높았으나‘공동체 의식’요인은 여학생이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 학교 적응의 하위요인인‘학교/교사’요인은 남학생이 높은 것으로 나타난 반면에, ‘친구관계’,‘규율’요인에서는 여학생이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이와 아울러, 남학생과 여학생의 경우 모두 사회적 지지가 사회적 책무성을 매개로 학교 적응에 간접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 따라서 청소년의 사회적 책무성 증진과 바람직한 학교 적응을 위해서는 유의미한 타인으로부터의 사회적 지지가 중요한 것임을 확인 할 수 있었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine gender differences on social support, social responsibility, and school adjustment, and to explore direct and indirect effects of social support on social responsibility and school adjustment. The subjects were 812 high school students in Seoul, Korea. Measures of social support (i.e., teacher, parents, and friends), social responsibility (i.e., caring, gratitude, community spirit, and leadership), and school adjustment (i.e., school/teacher, relations with other students, and disciplinary) were administered. Results were as followed. Firstly, male students had higher teacher support, caring, and school/teacher relationship scores than female students, whereas female students had higher peer support, community sprit, relations with other students, and disciplinary scores than male students. Secondly, for both male and female students, social support had direct effect on social responsibility and indirect effect on school adjustment via social responsibility. Therefore, social support is important for enhancing adolescents’social responsibility and school adjustment.
