The Establishment and Educational Contents of a Derivative List for ‘-답-’, ‘-롭-’ and ‘-스럽-’ for Korean Language Learners

초록

This article establishes a list of derivatives applicable in Korean language education, and examines the characteristics of combinable word stems and the meanings of ‘-답-’, ‘-롭-’ and ‘-스럽-’ to help foreign learners of the Korean language gain a better understanding of ‘-답-’, ‘-롭-’ and ‘-스럽-’. The second chapter extracts vocabulary featured in Korean language textbooks published by major universities, vocabulary from the TOPIK, and the frequently used vocabulary of corpus examples, and divides the level of the learners into elementary, intermediate, and advanced to suggest derivatives suitable for the learners’ level as the foundation work to establish a derivative list of ‘-답-’, ‘-롭-’ and ‘-스럽-’ for Korean language learners. The third chapter classifies the combinable word stems of ‘-답-’, ‘-롭-’ and ‘-스럽-’ and consolidates the meaning of ‘-답-’, ‘-롭-’ and ‘-스럽-’ and their characteristics. The fourth chapter consolidates the form, common characteristics, semantic characteristics, and pragmatic characteristics of ‘-답-’, ‘-롭-’ and ‘-스럽-’ and explains the educational contents that would be suggested to the learners. This article is insufficient; however, the derivative list and educational contents for ‘-답-’, ‘-롭-’ and ‘-스럽-’ suggested in the article aids in the selection of content to be taught to the Korean language learners in the hopes of contributing to derivative learning and vocabulary expansion for foreign learners.
