This article examines the contents of legal rules on part-time work in France. The French law on part-time work is unified and systematic. Its regulations are detailed and sophisticated to limit overtime work. The equal treatment between part-time workers and full-time workers are established. Part-time workers have the priority to full-time employment that belongs to the same professional category. The minimum working hours has been conducted in order to stabilize the employment of part-time workers. Representatives of employees get involved in the implementation of part-time work, and they are provided with the relevant information. French law gives us some significant implications. It is necessary to create an independent legislature governing part-time work. It should be sought for the introduction of additional measures to limit overtime work more effectively. We should strengthen legal protections for workers who are working in the ultra-short time, and establish substantial equality in working conditions between part-time workers and full-time workers. Part-time workers could be preferentially converted to full-time workers. With the introduction of the minimum working hours, it is needed to stabilize the employment of part-time workers. The substantial involvement of employee representatives should be ensured in the practice of part-time work.
