As the role of third sector in economy for replacing(or complementing) that of both government and market economy, the status and sustainability of social enterprise has been, recently, highlighted. Along with external factors including social network, identity, business environment, organizational structure, and governance structure etc. entrepreneurship has been a key factor accounting for the firm’s performance. While past research on social entrepreneurship has been majorly focused on identifying precedents of it, such as environmental characteristics, research on inner characteristics of social entrepreneur are relatively scant. This study examines social entrepreneurship, modelling an occupational identity of a social entrepreneur as an independent variable and the performance of social enterprise as a dependent variable. and testing related hypothesis. In addition to examining the relationship between these two variables, we hypothesized the mediating role of social entrepreneurship between two variables. We employed both economic and social outcome as measure for the performance of social enterprise. Data was collected from 169 social enterprise(among all of social enterprise in Korea), and analyzed using SEM(Structural Equation Modeling). ariable affecting both social entrepreneurship and economic․social performance. Second, social entrepreneurship is, on the one hand, positively related to social outcome, negatively related, on the other hand, to an economic outcome. Third, social outcome affects positively on an economic outcome. Finally, social entrepreneurship is found to partially mediate occupational identity and social outcome.
