경북의 지속가능한 산림경영 방안에 관한 연구 : 독일의 「산림전략 2020」을 중심으로

The purpose of this study is to develop the strategy for sustainable forest management in Gyeongbuk to suggest the useful guideline on how to manage local forest based on the Forest Strategy 2020 in Germany. After reviewing the areas of action and subordinate goals of the 「Forest Strategy 2020」, we suggested the sustainable forest management for Gyeongbuk Forest. First, it is necessary to plan the mixed forest and plant site-adapted and mainly indigenous species of trees for having more forest resources. Second, providing the consulting services for small private forests, encouraging to join forestry co-operatives, improving of the working condition and introducing the forestry certification systems are important economic factor in private forest management. Thirds, it is important to introduce the plan of the sustainable use of timber, establish the utilization system of the waste wood and we need the forestry machinery and the forestry machinery center for the timber industry. Fourth, biodiversity and forest conservation need to participate with local residents, quantify the value of biodiversity and develop the criteria on protection of soil and water. Lastly, the government should provide the forest college or polytechnics with citizen and forest education to revitalize the forest management education.
