노인전문병원의 여가프로그램과 고객만족에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study is to investigate a recreational program for a senior's specialized hospital and customer satisfaction based on the sex and age of patients and to confirm how the customer satisfaction could affect on overall satisfaction of the hospital through an empirical analysis. This study was conducted through a survey at senior's specialized hospitals in Chung-Nam district. The survey was answered by a patient or an authorized person with presence of the patient, and basic inquires about age and sex were included in the survey to estimate the differences made on the recreational programs based on age and sex and the reason for attending a senior's specialized hospital was asked to evaluate the reason for attending a senior's specialized hospital. Also, among the programs that were conducted at the hospital, the programs that patients actually participated were investigated. The analysis of the survey revealed that female patients were almost twice more than male patients. The major reasons for attending the hospital were aggravating heath and no one to take care of 76% of participants were attending recreational programs, and religion therapy program and physical activity program were most frequently participated programs according to a multiple reponses question. there were no noticeable differences on the satisfaction rate based on gender. However, in case of an art therapy program, male participants showed higher satisfaction rate(3.96) compared to female(3.37) and female participants showed higher satisfaction rate on a gardening therapy program, a music therapy program and a religion therapy program. According to analysis based on age groups, no apparent differences for the satisfaction rate on a physical activity program, a gardening therapy program and a music therapy program were showed between different age group. However, 60s satisfaction rate was significantly higher for a drawing and coloring program in a art therapy program and 50s and 80s showed higher satisfaction rate on a religion therapy program. We would like to make following suggestions to improve the recreational programs for a senior's specialized hospital based on the study. First, the satisfaction rate on provided recreational programs could influence on overall satisfaction rate of a hospital more than the satisfaction rate on an actual medical service. Therefore, it would be necessary to provide more specialized and professionalized recreational programs. Also since the satisfaction rate could be varied upon gender and age groups and each nature, these programs should be designed to meet each need. However, the this study had included only a limited number of senior specialized hospitals located in Chung-Nam district and most of participants were seniors and some had difficulties of expression their opinions without help of a nurse, a care giver or a guardian. We therefore recommend that future study should be developed with greater range of patients and to enhance the quality of service of a senior specialized hospital with qualified medical service and recreational programs.
