초록
이제 우리나라는 지난해 한·EU 간 FTA 체결에 서명함으로써 현재까지 모두 44개국과 FTA를 체결하게 되면서 농산물 시장 개방의 파고가 드높아지는 가운데, 일반 벤처기업들의 도약과 함께 농업의 자생력은 물론 대외경쟁력 향상을 위해서는 농업분야에서도 새로운 벤처기업의 탄생이 요구되는 시점에 와 있다. 따라서 국내 농업 산업은 전통적인 산업형태가 지닌 노동집약적이고 저부가가치 산업이라는 태생적 한계에서 벗어나 보다 선진화된 첨단 경영 시스템을 적극적으로 도입하여 새로운 돌파구를 모색해야 할 사회적 요구에 직면해 있다. 그런 의미에서 벤처농업은 침체일로에 놓인 열악한 한국의 농업 산업에 활력소를 제공하며 농업 경영인들에게 벤처정신을 불어넣음으로써 외부환경에 대응할 만한 유연성과 기술 경쟁력을 갖춘 농업기업을 탄생시킬 것으로 기대를 모은다. 본 연구는 우리나라 농업 분야 벤처기업으로서 가장 성공적인 사례로 평가받고 있는 주식회사 장생도라지의 창업에서부터 성장 과정, 성공요인 및 한계와 잠재력 등을 중심으로 사례연구방법을 통하여 분석해봄으로써 이미 창업이 되었거나 창업을 준비하는 우리나라 농업벤처 기업들에게 시사점과 모본이 될 수 있는 성장발전 전략을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
Abstract
This study aims to identify the success factors of Jang Saeng Doraji as a most successful case of agricultural venture business in Korea and to derive some lessons and strategic alternatives in order to develop and promote new venture business in agricultural sector. A venture business in agricultural sector is based on a new technology, to find a niche market and to seek high value-added. However, it is facing a lot of problems to be solved so that it may be competitive enough to thrive under th market opening era. By this case study of Jang Saeng Doraji, It will draw up some alternatives and measures to promote the agricultural venture business. Among several factors, development and production of safe and sane food, cooperation with rural community, manager's clear vision and philosophy, new ideas, technological innovation through continuous investment in R&D, and cultural marketing, are regarded as important factors to make the agricultural venture business competitive and successful.
