이 연구는 청소년의 학교규칙 신뢰감이 학교 공동체의식에 미치는 영향을 밝히는 실증적 연구로, 수도권 내 고등학교에 재학 중인 청소년 552명을 대상으로 설문조사를 시행하였다. 분석 결과 학교규칙 형성신뢰감, 내용 신뢰감, 시행 신뢰감은 모두 청소년의 학교 공동체의식에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 학생들은 학교규칙이 신뢰할만하다고 인식할 때 학교공동체에서 소속감과 정서적 안정감을 가지고 자신이 한 구성원으로서 지지받고 신뢰받고 있으며, 다른 구성원에게 영향력을 미칠 수 있고 학교의 구성원들과 공통적인 경험을 공유하고 있다고 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 볼 때 학생들의 학교 공동체의식을 높이기 위해서는 학생들이 학교규칙의 형성과 시행과정을 공정하고 유용하다고 신뢰할 수 있도록 학교 내에서 다음과 같은 노력이 필요할 것이다. 첫째, 학교규칙을 형성하는 과정은 모든 학생들이 참여할 기회를 보장하고 의견이 고르게 반영될 수 있도록 민주적이고 공정하게 이루어져야 한다. 둘째, 학교규칙의 내용은 학생들이 학교생활을 하는 데 실질적으로 필요한 내용을 담아야 한다. 셋째, 학교규칙의 시행은 어떤 학생에게든 차별 없이 공평하게 이루어져야 하며, 학생들이 학교규칙을 적용하여 결정된 내용에 따를 수 있도록 이루어져야 한다.
Abstract
This study is an empirical research on the effects of trust in school regulations on the youth’s sense of school community. A survey was conducted on 552 high school students in the capital metropolitan area. The analysis indicated that adolescents’ trust on school regulations was more likely to produce a positive influence on the sense of school community. Students felt a sense of attachment and stability once they felt the regulation was trustworthy. These students not only enjoyed interaction with their peers, but also shared their experiences one another. Therefore, the schools were expected to make a greater effort to increase the level of trust on school regulation. The creation and management of school regulation should be democratic and fair; the rules should assure participation and reflect the opinion of all students. Furthermore, the content of regulation should be practical, reflecting the needs of students. Most importantly, the regulations should not contain any discrimination against minor students and the schools should lead every students feel comfortable in conforming to the regulations.
