입학사정관제의 한계와 가능성 그리고 입학사정관의 윤리

Higher education in us has functioned as the summit of education of human resource and almost the only ladder of class mobility. Therefore, the national attention for the admission of universities remains the same. And as much as this attention many problems in the admission of university have become an issue. Among these, the admission officer system which is renamed the Track of General Transcripts of School Records emphasizes the autonomy of universities. First started in the United States of America, this system narrowed the gate of entrance into universities to jews form Eastern Europa and instead gave preferential treatment to the Anglo-Saxons, which is why this system is still negatively considered as a system that offers the children of the upper class opportunities of entrance into distinguished universities. On the other hand, admission officer system has contributed positively not only to diversification of admission, but also to equity and social responsibility of education by allocating women, ethnicities, classes, and regions at the admission to universities in a balanced manner. It is of paramount importance to make sure of the fairness and reliability of admission officials and also to assure their professionalism and vocational ethics so that the admission officer system functions properly. The study suggests autonomy and responsibility based on professionalism as the rights and duties of admission officials and discusses the resulting principles of actions through utilitarianism, Kant’s ethics, Rawls’ concept of justice. Principles for forbidding and allowing discrimination will both be set in order to present a moral foundation for the admission officer system.
