창업생태계가 소셜 벤처의 기업가적 활동에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: 성수동 소셜밸리를 중심으로

The study about social entrepreneurship and social ventures, as innovative actors for solving social problems in our society, has been gaining much of attention from academic areas through many years. Past literature often focused on only 'heroic' characteristic of a social entrepreneur, or individual organizational dimension, so that scholars had raised a suggestion for a contextual approach to the entrepreneurial process of a social venture. But there are only a few academic attempts about such context. For this reason, this study tries to examine the initial emergence of social ventures' entrepreneurial ecosystem and its effect on entrepreneurial actions, based on South Korea's context of social ventures. Through a qualitative case study of 'Seongsu Social Valley', current thesis reveals the process of emerging social ventures' entrepreneurial ecosystem with material attributes as the central aspects, and also identifies the effects of the ecosystem on the entrepreneurial action of social ventures based on in-depth interviews from seven social ventures in Seongsu area. This research adds to the understanding of foundation and growth of social ventures through ecosystem framework and fills the gap in previous research stream in social entrepreneurship which had focused on individual entrepreneur or venture firm.
