A Study of Vocabulary Education based on semantic prosody - centering around suffix ‘-jeok’ and derivative -

This study is based on the semantic prodody, which is implicit and emotional meaning of vocabulary. Semantic prosody is a kind of semantic tendency of positivity/negativity. Semantic prosody is connected with collocation and is studied in corpus linguistics. It can identified through high-capacity original language materials. Vocabulary education needs synthetic knowledge of ‘form-meaning-using’. To achieve our goals, we can use semantic prosody. Derivative which is combined suffix ‘-jeok’ particularly has various semantic prosody. In this case, by exploring the above issues(suffix, root, vocabulary), we can educate vocabulary effectively. This study adopted a method of exploring pronunciation, word element, association and register. In other words, it is based on form, meaning ,using of words. Semantic prosody is the meaning of word itself and relational meaning and is a useful abstraction to illustrate principle of vocabulary education.
