범죄예방을 위한 화훼디자인 활용에 관한 연구

초록
최근에 여성과 아동 등 사회적 약자에 대한 범죄의 증가 추세로 인해안전에 대한 사회적 관심과 요구가 커지면서 도시계획에 범죄예방을 위한 환경설계(CPTED)를 도입하는 지방자치단체가 늘어나고 있다. CCTV나조명 설치 등의 기계적 범죄예방 대책만으로는 다양한 환경에서 발생하는 범죄에 대응하기 어려워, 환경을 개선하여 범죄 발생을 줄이기 위한시도가 활발하다. 본 연구는 최근 주택가를 중심으로 추진되고 있는 범죄예방을 위한환경 개선 사례를 조사⋅분석하여 CPTED기법에 대한 개선방안을 제안하였다. 현재 설치된 범죄예방을 위한 시설들의 유형을 분류한 결과, 기존의 기계적 방범시설의 성능개선과 함께 감성적인 방법을 이용해 활용도를 높인 사례도 다수 파악되었다. 또한 CPTED 대상 지역은 주로 낙후된주택가로서 환경 개선을 위해 벽화를 그린 곳이 많아, 지역 고유의 정체성이 분명하지 않은 문제점이 있었다. 이에 본 연구에서 화훼조형물이조형미술로서의 문화적 가치에서 확장하여 범죄예방을 위한 도구로도 활168 한국화예디자인학 연구 제37집용될 수 있음을 밝혔다. 즉 화훼를 활용한 콘텐츠는 녹지공간을 조성하게 되고, 이는 시각적으로 아름답고 물리적으로 친근하며, 심리적으로 불안감을 줄여 활력을 되찾는 도시재생전략이 될 뿐만 아니라 범죄예방설계의 새로운 패러다임이 될 수 있는 가능성을 발견하였다.
Abstract
There have been more concerns regarding the safety of society due to the increased crimes against children and women. The local governments started introducing Crime Prevention Through Environment Design (CPTED) plan to prevent crimes. Local governments have been trying to improve the environment to reduce crimes since there is the limitation to preventing crimes through technology such as CCTV cameras and lights. This research studied about crime prevention systems around residential area and trying to find a better way of crime prevention system within the system they already exist. After researching the patterns of current crime prevention plans, they used emotion to prevent crimes as well as technology upgrades. Most CPTED areas are in slums where graffiti improves its look. This can lead to a vague characteristic of the area. This study shows that floral sculptures can be used to prevent crimes due to its cultural values. In conclusion, the use of floral sculptures can make an area look more beautiful with the creation of green areas, and reduce anxiety which can lead to prevention of crimes.
