초록
This study aims to better understand what attributes comprising the hypothetical camping sites are considered important by family campers to maximize their levels o fsatisfaction or utility. Using a discrete choic e experimental approach, one of the most advanced microeconomic valuation techniques, we also intend to examine how our respondents are willing to pay for particular acmping site attributes. With an extensive review of previous literature, this study developed seven differnet camping site attributes including travel time , neighboring recreation opportunities, camping unit area, separation distance between units as well as site fees and allotted three quantitative levels to each attribute. Results from the random parameter logit model estimation revealed that our respondents put the heaviest weight onh te attribute associated with travel time while showing their marginal willingness-to-pay of KRW19,197 for savnig each hour of travel time. Family camper s also placed importance on the separation distance between each unit and indicated their willingness to pay KRW3,008 for each one-meter separation. Nevertheless, our respondents were insensitive to the average year of trees when choosing a camping site. Based on study findings, different management implications are needed to discuss for Korean camping site businesses.
