본 논문의 목적은 기독교 영성학과 성경적 영성의 대표적인 주창자인 산드라 슈나이더스(Sandra Schneiders)의 연구를 중심으로 성경적 영성에 대해 소개하고, 성서학을 통한 성경적 영성의 참여방법을 제안하는 데 있다. 슈나이더스의 성경적 영성은 성경 안에 표현된 하나님에 대한 살아있는 경험인 성경적 영성을 연구하는 것으로 시작한다. 성경 안에는 삼위일체 하나님을 경험하고 하나님을 향하여 변화된 삶을 사는 영성과 그 패턴들이 표현되어 있다. 하나님은 성경을 통해 자신을 계시하심으로 하나님을 향한 영성의 삶으로 성경을 읽는 그리스도인들을 초대하신다. 다양한 형태의 성경 읽기에 참여하는 그리스도인들은 성경의 영성에 영향을 받아 변화되고, 영성이 형성되며, 삼위일체 하나님을 향하여 자신의 삶을통합하도록 노력하는 영성의 삶을 살아가게 된다. 이러한 성경적 영성의 삶을 위한 방법으로 슈나이더스는 성경에 대한 깊은 이해에 기반을 두어렉시오 디비나, 말씀의 선포(설교) 듣기, 말씀의 예전, 공통된 믿음과 경험을 소유한 소그룹 성경공부 등에 참여함으로써 세상에서 변화된 영성의 삶을 실현하는 방법을 제시한다. 슈나이더스는 성경적 영성의 정의, 목적, 방법을 체계적으로 제시함으로써 성경적 영성이 발전할 수 있는 기틀을 마련하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to introduce biblical spirituality and to suggest how Christians may participate in biblical spirituality through biblical studies. It focuses upon the work of Schneiders, who is a representative advocate of Christian spirituality and biblical spirituality. Biblical spirituality begins by studying and interpreting the spirituality of the living experience of God as expressed in the Bible. Christians who experience God through the Bible are spiritually transformed and strive to integrate their lives toward the triune God. Schneiders suggests methodologies for biblical spirituality that are based on a deep understanding of the Bible, such as taking part in lexio divina, listening to the proclamation of the Word, participating in the liturgy of the World, participating in small–group bible study with those who have common beliefs and experiences, and performing transformative action in the world. Schneider’s presentation of the definition, purpose, and method of biblical spirituality has laid the foundation for the development of biblical spirituality.
