A Study on the Factors Affecting Entrepreneurial Attitude of Korean Secondary School Students: Focused on Mediating Effect of Entrepreneurial Motivation

[Purpose]This study aims at testing the impacts of relational support and role model on entrepreneurial attitude and entrepreneurial motivation to verify how these variables work in secondary school students setting. [Methodology]This study used hierarchical multiple regression analysis with PASW Statistic 18 to test established seven hypothesis. Total 217 students from 11 different high schools participated in this study who have joined in entrepreneurship program more than one time during past three years. [Findings]Both relational support and role model have positive effects on forming entrepreneurial attitude as well as entrepreneurial motivation of secondary high school students. Entrepreneurial motivation also influences entrepreneurial attitude positively. Entrepreneurial motivation revealed its’ mediating role in forming positive entrepreneurial attitude of adolescent. [Implications]A new approach need to be in place to enlighten and change the mind-set of the family members toward entrepreneurship. Role model also needs to be incorporated in entrepreneurship course for high school students, as it contributes to entrepreneurship promotion as big as teaching entrepreneruship at school.
