산업별 지식자원개발활동비용이 기업성과에 미치는 영향

Multiple previous studies have suggested that accounting information and the quality of it vary by industry. This can be translated as knowledge resource development activity expenses, which is affected by CEO’s discretion, has different impacts on firm performance by industry. From this point of view, this study examines the impact that knowledge resource development activity expenses has on firm performance (such as Tobin’s Q, ROA, ROE and GRW) by industry. To summarize the result of this study, knowledge resource development activity expenses has different impacts on firm performance by industry. Expenditures on education and training, research and development, and advertisement have positive impacts on particular industries. This study result demonstrates the fact that when strategies regarding knowledge resource development activity expenses are established, not only financial factors but also the nature of an industry must be considered. This study was an opportunity to suggests standards that CEOs of enterprises can refer to when deciding reasonable amount of knowledge resource development activity expenses and provides users of accounting information with financial data regarding knowledge resource development activity expenses by industry.
