The Classification of Smart City Services : Focusing on the Application Cases of Big Data

As the dynamics of industrial development shifts from manufacturing to service business, a new economic paradigm based on the service sector emerges. Interdisciplinary research has improved service productivity and innovation by approaching service industry problems scientifically as a service in science. Following these trends, the public sector is also exploring scientific and systematic approaches and methodologies for creating, communicating, and measuring services. Particularly, the smart city is emerging as the total package of public services that target urban spaces. The present study aims to classify the big data application cases of private and public sectors according to the criteria of the BI&A application field and the smart city service type, respectively. The data characteristics are analyzed, and implications for finding solutions from the perspective of service science are suggested. This study identifies the data that should be analyzed to obtain comprehensive field-specific implications.
