국내 섬유산업의 구조변화와 경제적 파급효과 분석

초록
본 연구는 2000년도 이후 국내 섬유산업의 구조변화를 파악하고, 산업연관분석을 이용하여 섬유산업 산출변화에 따른 경제적 유발효과를 분석하였다. 우선 2014년 기준 국내 섬유산업의 사업체수, 종사자수, 출하액, 부가가치는 모두 2000년도 비중의 절반수준에도 못 미치는 수준이며, 무역수지도 지속적으로 감소하고 있는 추세이다. 하지만 섬유산업의 생산단계에 따른 스트림별 비중은 해당 기간동안 비교적 균형있게 유지되고 있는 모습을 보여, 국내 섬유산업의 위상 약화가 특정 생산공정에 치우친 모습은 아니라는 것이 확인되었다. 다음으로 본 연구에서는 섬유산업을 외생화한 수정된 산업연관표를 바탕으로 국내 섬유산업이 타산업에 미치는 경제적 유발효과를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 2000년도와 2014년도를 비교하였을 때 국내 섬유산업의 산출변화가 타산업에 미치는 경제적 유발효과는 증가한 것으로 확인되었다. 구체적으로 국내 섬유산업 산출이 감소하였을 때, 2000년도 기준으로 생산, 수입, 부가가치 측면의 직·간접적 유발효과는 산출 감소의 1.30배이지만, 2014년도 기준으로는 1.39배에 달하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 과거에 비해 섬유산업이 제조업 전체에서 차지하는 위상은 감소하였지만, 국내 산업부문 간의 투입-산출구조가 긴밀해짐에 따라 타산업으로의 파급효과는 더 커졌다는 것을 의미한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the structural change of the domestic textile industry since 2000 and analyze the economic effect of the decrease in textile industry output using the input-output analysis. In recent years, the proportion of the textile industry in the entire manufacturing industry and the trade balance have been steadily decreasing. Nevertheless, in terms of the industrial production processes, the proportion of streams in the domestic textile industry has remained relatively balanced. It means that the weakening of the domestic textile industry is not biased toward the specific part of production process. Secondly, this study analyzed the economic inducement effect of the textile industry on the other industries based on the revised input-output table which is dealing with the textile industry as an exogenous variable. When the output of the domestic textile industry declined, the direct and indirect effects of production, imports and value-added in 2000 were 1.30 times of the decrease in output, but reached 1.39 times in 2014. This means that the inducement effect of the textile industry on other industries has become greater as the input-output structure between the industrial sectors becomes closer.
