In a modern, internationally competitive environment, securing and protecting core technology through intellectual property rights has been the core element of individual and national competitiveness in a knowledge-based society. Time would come when national competitiveness would depend on creation, accumulation, sharing, and utilization of knowledge, and intangible values have become the standards in evaluating business values. Patent information includes different types of information, such as applicant, inventor, applicant country, technology category, and precedent patent information, which is widely used in conducting research to predict future scenarios. In this study, an implication has been drawn by using patent indicators that target 20 global auto parts companies based on sales through quantitative and qualitative analyses.
