A Study on the Multi-Group Analysis Using R in PLS Path Modeling

This study suggests the approaches to perform multi-group analysis in path analysis model using R. In this paper, we analyzed the algorithm and the pros and cons of the multi-group analysis methods based on PLS structural equation modeling presented in the previous literature in depth, which are parametric approach, permutation-based approach, non-parametric approach, and non-parametric confidence set approach. We have proposed a method to implement the above multi-group analysis techniques using "plspm", which is an R package that supports PLS structural equation modeling. In particular, this study developed the R functions for multi-group analysis based on the non-parametric approach and the non-parametric confidence set approach, which were not provided in the plspm package. This study will be useful for the studies including the multi-group analysis in structural equation modeling, which is not support by most of SEM packages, also will provide the knowledge base for in-depth analysis through suggesting the various multi-group analysis techniques using R for the researchers.
