m-Cresol의 화재 및 폭발 특성치에 관한 연구

A Study on the Fire and Explosion Properties of m-Cresol

초록

The flammability parameters necessary for safe handling and process design of hazardous substances are explosion limits, flash point, fire point, autoignition temperature(AIT). For the safe handling of m-cresol, the flash points and AIT by ignition delay time were experimented. Also, the explosion limits of m-cresol was investigated in the reference data. The lower flash point of m-cresol by using setaflash manual closed-cup tester were experimented at 87 ℃. The lower flash points of m-cresol by Tag and Cleveland open cup testers were experimented at 100 ℃ and 97 ℃, respectively. And, this study measured relationship between the AIT and the ignition delay times by using ASTM E659 tester for m-cresol. The AIT of m-cresol was experimented as 560 ℃. The lower explosion limit(LEL) calculated by Setaflash manual flash point value is 1.36 vol%, which is slightly higher than the references value of 1.1 vol%
