웨어러블 카메라 사용에 따른 개인정보의 보호를 위한 연구

In the Internet of things (IoE) age, devices are connected to each other by their own Internet addresses, and information collected by sensors attached to the devices is stored in a server through a network Such a device may be attached to the body α used in the form of a pair of glasses or a helmet to collect information, A representative example of such a device is a wearable camera, Recently, it has been widely used in the United States, the United Kingdom and other countries. In Korea, a wearable police camera is now been used as a pilot. Police cams generally collect evidence, protect police from unwarranted allegations of police torture, enable police to perform their duties appropriately and effectively, and ensure transparency in police duties. They can be used to record interactions and to investigate and resolve complaints or police-related incidents. Therefore, the police as well as the general public can benefit from the use of the police cam. However, police cams have a problem that can infringe on privacy or personal information. Police cams can easily record images by attacmng them to their bodies due to their mobility, and many images recorded by the police cams are personal information, wmch can significantly infringe the privacy of the recorded. While the Perscnal Information Protection Act applies to the collection and processing of personal information by police cams, it is not possible to sclve the specific issues related to recording by police cam through the general principles in the Act. This paper presents the principles to be included in the guidelines for the use of police cams to strike a between the risks of violating the personal information of citizens and police officers and the benefits of enhancing police officers’ responsibilities and job transparency. Its goal is to contribute to the social benefits of using police cams.
