The current status and outlook of industrial minerals in Chungbuk province : part 2

초록

This paper investigates various industrial fields and uses industrial minerals to identify the value added technology at home and abroad, and converts the simple mineral industry in Chungbuk province into a competitive new material industry through the possibility of import substitution. The industrial minerals can be transformed into new materials through the refining process by grinding and giving function. Concentrated minerals are separated from the raw minerals and remain in useful form. Small particles are treated in various ways to impart functionality. As the liberation is done to impart the function to the powder, the size of ultrafine particles become less than 100nm. For this purpose, the use of representative industrial minerals was investigated in Chungbuk province as raw minerals in the chemical, paper, plastic, and paint industries. The technology used to enhance the added value of industrial minerals at home and abroad was studied, and given the functionality to these industrial minerals. This research also examined how these minerals can be used in high-tech industries other than conventional industries, and how much commerciality they can have. Finally, this paper studied how separation purification technology, synthesis and powder technology are used to increase added value.
