지적장애인을 위한 베리어프리디자인 기초연구

초록
지적장애인은 사회에서 가장 약자라고 판단된다. 그러므로 지적장애인이 사회생활을 하는데 있어서 베리어 즉, 걸림돌이나 장벽이 되는 요소들이 많이 존재한다고 보고 이와 같은 배리어들을 제거해 준다면 보다 편리한 생활이 가능할 것이다. 디자인으로 이러한 장애요소들을 없애거나 완화시킬 수 있는 방안들을 제시하려 한 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 국내의 요양병원을 방문하여 환자를 케어하는 케어전문가를 통하여 케어실태와 환경의 바람직한 방향성 등을 조사하였다. 베리어프리디자인의 관점에서 전술한 내용을 요약하였다. 물리적 베리어는 위험을 제거할 뿐만 아니라 시설에서는 압박감을 주지 않고 위험으로부터의 유연한 관리 등을 들 수 있다. 문화 정보적 베리어는 필요한 정보를 알기 쉽게 제시하기 위하여 다음과 같은 방법을 제시한다. 첫째는 필요한 행동에 직접 결합단서를 나타내는 것이다. 애매한 제시가 아닌 형태나 색채로 구별하거나 표식을 디자인하는 것이다. 둘째는 문자뿐만 아니라 그림이나 마크를 표준화하여 보여주는 것이다. 셋째는 판단을 흐리는 불필요한 정보는 제거한다. 넷째는 음악이나 향기 등을 이용해서 오감을 자극함으로써 지적장애인의 행동을 안정시키고 자신감을 갖게 함으로써 자기를 긍정적으로 볼 수 있게 한다. 지적장애인이 베리어를 느끼지 않도록 하려면 시설의 환경을 일반 거주처와 같이 주택화로 변경되어야 한다. 또한 주택의 디자인도 자연의 형태나 소재를 이용하는 것이 효과가 높은 것으로 밝혀졌다. 지적장애인은 인공적 환경을 떠나 자연에 가까운 환경 속에서 자아를 찾아가는 현상을 보인다. 그렇기 때문에 그들의 환경을 자연스럽고 이해를 가장 빠르게 할 수 있는 직접적인 사인 커뮤니케이션 등의 적용이 그들을 위한 것이다. 이렇게 될 때 일반인은 더더욱 편리한 시각환경 속에서 살아갈 수 있을 것이다. 태어나서 자랐던 환경을 그대로 재현해 주는 것이 가장 바람직하며, 통합사회를 이루기위해서 무엇보다도 지적장애인을 사회 구성원의 일원으로 받아들이는 것과 베리어프리디자인을 실행하는 것이다.
Abstract
I think intellectual disability is the weakest in society. Therefore, if you remove these barriers, they will be able to live a more convenient life. The purpose of this study is to suggest ways to eliminate or mitigate these obstacles. I visited the care hospital in Korea and surveyed about the current situation of care and the desirable direction of the environment through care professionals who care for patients. I summarized the contents about tactics from the perspective of barrier-free design. Physical barriers not only eliminate the risk, but also provide flexible management. Cultural-information Barrier offers the following methods to present necessary information easily. First, this is a direct cue to the action. It is distinguishing it by form or color rather than ambiguous presentation, or standardizing pictures or mark as well as letters. Thirdly, removing unnecessary information that blurs judgment. Fourth, by stimulating the five senses by using music or fragrance, it stabilizes the behavior of the intellectual disability, makes them have confidence and see positively themselves. To prevent people with intellectual disabilities from feeling a barrier, the environment of the facility should be changed to a residential area like a regular residence. In addition, it was found that the use of natural forms and materials is effective in the design of houses. It shows the phenomenon that people with intellectual disabilities leave the artificial environment and do self-seeking in an environment close to the nature. Therefore the application of direct sign communication is for them. When this happens, the general public is more likely to live in a convenient visual environment. It is best to reproduce the environment as people was born and grown up, and accept people with intellectual disabilities as members of society for unification society.
