The analysis of 2017/18 ISU Speed Skating World Cup 1st, 2nd and 3rd sprint Women's 500m interval records

The official records from the top five women athletes who participated in the 500m at the 2017/18 ISU World Championships (ISU) season sprint speed skating were analyzed for this study. Based on the official interval records (100m, 400m, 500m), the first and second race official records were analyzed to investigate the trend of record change. The official records of the ISU were used to investigate the trends of records change. In the 1st event in Netherlands Hernibin Nao Kodaira, who had the fastest lap time in the first race and second race for 100m and 400m, showed the fastest record at 37.29 sec. and 37.33sec. in the 500m final. Lee Sang Hwa was the second place at 37.60 sec. and 37.53 sec. In the 2nd event in Norway Stavanger Nao Kodaira, who had the fastest lap time in the first race and second race for 100m and 400m, showed the fastest record of 37.08 sec. and 37.70 sec. In the 3rd event in Canada Calgary Nao Kodaira, who had the fastest lap time in the first race for 100m and 400m showed the fastest record of 36.53 sec. After that, Lee sang hwa, who had the second fastest lap time in this event, took the second place with 36.86sec. To conclude, Lee Sang Hwa should prepare for decreasing the 100m lap time and improving cornering skill with rapid velocity to achieve her goal in PyeongChang Winter Olympic.
