예측이 불가능한 불확실성의 환경 속에서 기업이 생존하기 위해서는 지속적인 변화와 혁신을 통해서 차별적이고 경쟁우위를 확보할 수 있는 성공적인 신제품을 출시하여야 한다. 점점 짧아진 제품과 지식의 수명으로 인해 지식의 축적을 통한 제품 개발이 요구되고 있으며, 기업이 경쟁제품이 없는 새로운 제품을 개발한다면 기업의 성과는 높아질 것이다. 본 연구는 최근 미래의 산업으로 주목을 받고 있고 헬스케어 산업의 중심에 있는 바이오 산업에서의 중소벤처기업을 연구 대상으로 신제품 성공요인을 연구하였다. 중소바이오벤처기업에 있어 신제품 개발은 상대적으로 더 기술 집약적이고 고부가가치를 가진 산업이기 때문에 어느 산업보다도 미래의 생존을 결정짓는 중요한 요인의 하나라고 할 수 있다. 대부분의 기존 연구에서는 신제품성과에 대한 영향을 미치는 요인을 특정 산업분야에 한정하지 않고 연구가 진행하여 왔다. 본 연구에서는 중소바이오벤처기업을 대상으로 신제품 성공요인에 대해서 심층적으로 연구를 진행하였다. 기존 연구에서 제시한 다양한 성공요인들 중에서 본 연구는 중소바이오벤처기업에게 중요하다고 판단되는 기술적 측면을 강조한 연구이다. 즉, 기술지향성 측면에서 신제품성과에 미치는 영향과 기업의 흡수역량을 매개로 신제품성과에 어떤 영향을 미치는지에 대해 연구를 진행하였다. 기술지향성과 흡수역량이 전체적으로 신제품성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
New product development(NPD) is an important task of a firm under turbulent environment. Especially, Rapid technological development, diversification of consumer needs, shorter product life cycle and fierce competition of Bio-industrial market are more important. The objective of this research is to empirically investigate the suggested link technology orientation and new product performance of bio venture of SMEs(small and medium enterprises), and to identify the mediators that absorptive capacity this link. And then, we structured a research model and -hypotheses about relationship between these variables. Based on the survey of 66 bio venture of SMEs which finished their NPD project technically, technology orientation was positively related with the new product performance. also absorptive capacity was positively related with the new product performance. and the positive relationship between technology orientation and absorptive capacity. The results form empirical model provides a foundation for sustained performance and suggest implications for firms's success.
