M.A. Bulgakov and Metropolis-Moscow: Focused on Feuilleton of 1920s

Mikhail Bulgakov began his career as a full-time writer by writing literary sketches, notes and feuilleton. Many of them are devoted to the impression and reflection on the Metropolis-Moscow in the early 1920s. Bulgakov, as a writer from Kiev, carefully observed and recorded the appearance of Moscow changing in the age of Nep. This article is devoted to analysis of the feuilleton of M. Bulgakov. In the center of our attention are his early works that are written for Kiev citizens and russian emigrants in Berlin, who were interested in changes of Soviet capital Moscow. This study aims to identify and analyze the critical insights of the journalist-Bulgakov on the experiences and characteristics of the Soviet Metropolis Moscow. Also in this work we emphasize that his Moscow experience played an important role in growing as an artist-Bulgakov in terms of artistic expression and theme.
