A Review on the Structure of Decision of Minimum Wage

The current minimum wage system corresponds with ILO Conventions and the international tendency, which has passed 30 years after the enactment of the Minimum Wage Act. However questions in practice are being asked whether Minimum Wage Commission as a deliberation agency works properly. In particular the Problems of the structure and the makeup of the Commission has created the need for improvement in relation to the fairness and the independence. If the current determined system of minimum wage changes from the commission system to any other system, it may be asked whether the new system makes up for the weakness. The makeup of the Commission needs to be reformed as regards expansion of participation of representatives from the socially disadvantaged class, which is directly affected by the minimum wage, and the diversity of the jobs and the major of public interest commissioners. Fairness and Independence of public interest commissioners must be guaranteed stronger further.
