The Study on Exhibition Space & Interaction Design of Local Festival

The local festival is generating tourism by creating a festival space based on local resources. The material will be given a theme with the festival message, which is a key point of explaining and comprehending the festival to visitors and is considered important as an idea. As a result, many festivals are producing theme tent, and a lot of budget is being spent on the formation of them. However, it is often dependent on visual factors because the theme tent is constructed in a form of display around the material. Unlike the festival's deviation and dynamism and experience in playfulness, visitors are only aware of the festival as static and things to see. In this study, visitors felt emotions and interactions in the space beyond the visual elements of the exhibition tent, and the need for a content as interaction-oriented approach to the design of the theme tent. The Daegwallyeong Snow Flower Festival is killer contents part of the exhibition of snow sculpture and was designed with interaction design based on the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. This study extracted concepts and models of local festival interaction design through preceden research and conducted case analysis. Through verification, the importance and methodology of local festival exhibition space interaction design were presented.
