초등 사회과교육에서의 소수자교육 프로그램의 개발

초록
본 연구는 우리 문화 속에 공존하는 다양한 소수자들의 삶을 인정하고 그들과 더불어 살아가는 것 을 학습하도록 소수자교육 프로그램을 개발한 것이다. 세계화·다원화 시대를 살아갈 인간은 차이와 다 름의 가치를 지닌, 다양성에 대해 열린 인식을 갖고 있는 ‘폭넓은 세계관’을 지닌 시민이다. 이들은 다 양한 문화를 수용할 줄 알고, 개인의 권리뿐만 아니라 타인의 입장에서도 사고할 줄 아는 인권 감수성 을 지닌 인간이어야 하며. 이러한 인간은 초등학교부터 다루어질 때 그 효과가 클 것이다. 본 연구에서는 첫째, 선행연구를 토대로 소수자교육 내용 분석의 기준을 다양성교육, 반차별교육, 반편견교육, 인정교육, 소수자권리교육, 사회정의교육 등 총 6가지의 영역으로 나누고, 둘째, 분석 기준 을 토대로 사회교과서의 소수자 내용을 분석하여 그 실태를 파악하였으며, 셋째, 분석 결과를 바탕으 로 초등학생에게 적용 가능한 새로운 소수자교육 프로그램을 개발하였다. 본 연구에서의 소수자교육 프로그램은 첫째, 다양한 삶의 양식을 가진 다문화적인 우리 삶에 존재 하는 소수자에 대해 관심을 가지고, 학생 자신 스스로 그에 대한 인식과 가치관을 돌아볼 수 있는 기 회를 제공하며, 둘째, 소수자에 대해 인식하고 같은 인간으로서 그들에 대한 차별과 편견이 부당하다 는 사실을 공감하며 다양성이 공존하는 삶을 이해시키고, 셋째, 사회의 소수자뿐만 아니라 우리 학교 내의 사회적 약자 및 소수자와 공존할 수 있는 마음과 자세를 갖도록 할 수 있다. 본 프로그램이 또 다른 다수의 소수자교육 프로그램을 개발하는 계기가 되길 바라며 이러한 교육적 노력을 통하여 우리 사회의 구성원이 함께 공존하며 살아가는 사회가 되기를 기대한다.
Abstract
We developed minority education program that recognize various minorities living in our culture and live with them. Citizen we expect in an age of Globalization and Diversification will be a citizen who accepts various cultures with ‘A broad Worldview’, and also a human being who has humanity sensibility to think not only of individual rights but also others. I believe that this kind of human beings should be cultivated from their early age and that they will be more effective when dealt with from the elementary school curriculum. The research procedure for the achievement of research purpose are as follows. First, based on the theoretical content of the preceding study, the analysis criteria of minority education were divided into diversity education, semi-discrimination education, recognition education, and total education of minority rights, and social justice. Second, social textbooks related to the content of minority education in 2015 and social textbooks in 2009 were analyzed based on the analysis criteria. Through this, we try to understand the actual situation of minority education that has been done in the social studies curriculum and to provide an alternative. Third, based on the analysis results, a new minority education program was developed for elementary school students. The aims of the minority education program are as follows. First, it gives students the opportunity to look back on their own perceptions and values of minorities in multicultural life with diverse lifestyles. Second, recognize minorities and guide us in a direction of life where diversity coexist and sympathize with the fact that discrimination and prejudice are unjust as human beings. Third, our students should have a mind and attitude that can coexist with the minority in society as well as with the socially vulnerable in our school. I hope this study will change the school education so that students' perceptions will grow steadily, and consideration and sympathy for others will settle into their daily lives.
