디자인에서의 롤플레잉 의미 변화에 관한 연구

초록
본 연구는 디자인 트렌드의 변화에 따라 디자인 방법론에 적극 도입되고 있는 롤플레잉의 개념을 문헌연구를 통해 살펴보고, 연구자마다 다르게 사용하고있는 롤플레잉 용어를 연극학적 개념과 해외 디자인선행연구의 비교를 통해 재조명하여 그 기준을 마련하는 데 목적이 있다. 이는 롤플레잉 용어의 본질적의미에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 디자인 방법론으로 통용 가능한 롤플레잉 용어 사용 방향성 정립의 토대를마련하기 위함이다. 이를 위해 롤플레잉 용어의 정의에 중점을 두고 해외의 롤플레잉의 용어, 개념, 방법론 등의 키워드를담고 있는 논문 52편을 1차적으로 분석하였다. 이후연극학적, 연기 미학적 관점에서 롤플레잉의 본질적인의미의 기준이 되는 8개의 중요 용어를 도출하고, 8개용어의 연관관계를 중심으로 디자인 방법론으로서 중요성이 높은 4개의 용어로 압축하여 논의를 전개하였다. 그리고 각 용어에 대한 등장배경, 현재 사용 기준, 디자인 연계 시 필요한 관점 등을 살펴보았다. 본 연구는 디자인 영역에서 새로운 방법론으로 부각되고 있는 롤플레잉의 본질적 의미를 고찰해 보는데 그의의가 있다. 향후에는 연극학 분야에서도 세부 분야인실용연극, 교육연극, 연극치료 등의 접목을 통해 롤플레잉의 구체적인 실행방안의 후속 연구를 기대한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to reexamine the conception of role-playing which has been positively adopted in design process according to design trend changes through literature research and the terms of the role-playing in terms of the concept of theatre studies in order to reestablish a new definition and standard. For preparing a direction of widely using role-playing terms in design, I would like to understand the essential meaning of it. As a research method, I suggested the aim of reestablishing them from theatre studies and acting aesthetics after examining the tendency and definition of role-playing terms from foreign representative advanced research earlier. I mostly focused on the overseas research because domestic role-playing ones were very limited unfortunately. The result of this research has meaning to provide new standards for role-playing terms which were scattered around every individual researcher in design process. I hope to cooperate with the branches of theatre studies-applied theatre, theatre in education, theatre therapy-and brain science, cognition science on the role playing concept and terms through enlarging research scope. It could help us to rebuild the professional and popular role-playing terms.
