연결잠금장치를 활용한 연속성 디자인의 시스템 주얼리 디자인 연구 개발

초록
주얼리는 신체 착용을 위한 제품으로 장식적 표현 수단과 인간의 미적 가치를 표출하고자 하는 목적의 제품이다. 주얼리 제품에 구조는 미적인 디자인의 역할을 하 는 장식과, 그 장식을 착용하기 위해 연결과 고정을 목적한 잠금장치, 이렇게 크게 두 가지 구조로 구성하 고 있다. 주얼리 제품에서의 디자인 장식과 장치는 어 느 한쪽도 생략할 수 없고 각각의 장식과 장치가 조 화롭게 결합되어 사용하게 된다. 이렇게 결합된 제품 은 소비자 사용 시 디자인의 만족과 실용성, 기능성, 안전성이 충족되어 완성되어야만 한다. 현재 주얼리 제품에서의 연결 및 잠금장치는 디자 인 및 구조에서 발전되지 못한 채 차별화 없이 거의 모든 주얼리에 똑같이 사용되고 있다. 시중에서 쉽게 판매되고 있는 연결 잠금장치들의 일률적인 반복과 사용은 주얼리 산업에서 당연시 화 되고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 발전성 없는 반복적 상황이 결국 주얼리 디자인의 독창성을 보여 줄 수 없을뿐더러 제 품과 기업의 경쟁력을 상실하게 될 수 밖에 없을 것 이라는 생각에서 시작되었다. 그러나 모든 주얼리 업체가 이러한 위기의 심각성 을 인지 못한 것은 아니다. 주얼리 ‘R’업체에서는 연 결잠금장치를 연구 개발하여 가변형의 장식을 특허출 원하였고 경쟁력을 높이고자 노력하며 대처하고자 하 였다. 하지만 새로운 아이디어의 연구 개발된 장치의 기술만으로는 소비자에게 선보이기 어렵고 제품화를 위한 디자인적인 방향의 연구가 필요하다고 판단하였 다. 본 연구의 목적은 개발된 장치의 효율적인 활용을 위하여 실용적인 시스템주얼리 디자인을 연구 개발하 고자 시행하였으며 또한 본 연구를 통해 단순히 연결 잠금장치의 역할 뿐 아니라 디자인의 연속성을 가진 주얼리 장식과 장치의 일체화, 단순한 주얼 리가 아닌 시스템화 되어 효율적이면서도 경제적인 주얼리 디자 인을 연구 개발하는 것이다. 진행하고자 하는 연구 내용 및 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 현재 사용되고 있는 연결잠금장치와 REX다이 아몬드에서 특허 출원한 연결잠금장치의 구조를 파악 하고 적절한 활용 방법을 연구하였다. 둘째, 가변이 가능한 연결 장금장치의 구조 활용을 위하여 기본 목 걸이의 길이를 계산, 분할을 통해 팔찌 등 연출이 가 능하도록 방향을 계획하였다. 또한 디자인의 느낌이 단절되지 않도록 조화롭게 디자인의 연속성을 가지도 록 연구하였다. 셋째, 개발된 연결잠금장치를 활용하 여 소비자 스스로 가변하고 자유롭게 연출 할 수 있 도록 시스템화 된 주얼리 방식을 적용하였다. 이러한 디자인 연구 진행은 업체의 기술력 활용뿐 아니라 새롭고 차별화된 주얼리 시장의 경쟁력을 갖 출 수 있을 것으로 예상되며 계속되는 경기 침체로 인한 어려움을 극복함은 물론 브랜드의 인지도를 높 일 수 있는 계기가 될 수 있을 것이라 기대하는 바이 다.
Abstract
Jewelry is product to be worn on the body, and the purpose of decorative expression as well as human's esthetic value. The structure of jewelry products largely consists of ornaments that play the aesthetic design role and the locking device for connecting and locking purposes. Neither the design elements nor the devices in jewelry products can't be omitted, and each design element and device are combined harmoniously. Such product should satisfy consumers in terms of design, practicality, functionality and safety. Connecting and locking device in jewelry products are used in almost all jewelry without distinction, not showing any improvements in terms of design and structure. The repeated use of locking devices that are easily found in the market is considered natural in the jewelry industry. This study began from the thought that such repeated situation without improvement can't display the creativity of jewelry design and will result in the loss of product competitiveness of company. However, not all jewelry manufacturers are unaware of the severity of this crisis. Rex Diamond Co., Ltd. developed a locking device and applied for the patent of flexible device and attempted to improve competitiveness. But the device that was newly developed can't be easily offered to the end-consumers just with the technology, and requires researches in design for the commercialization of the development. This study aims to develop a practical system jewelry design for the efficient use of this device, and to develop an economic jewelry design with sequence, and a systemized and efficient economic jewelry design. The methods and results of this study are as follows. First, the structures of common locking device and patented locking device by Rex Diamond were examined and the appropriate usage was examined. Second, the length of basic necklace was calculated for the use of flexible locking device to be used for other types of jewelry, such as bracelet, through division. Also, the continuity of design was studied so the jewelry design isn't broken. third, using the newly developed locking device, a systemized jewelry method was applied so the consumers can freely adjust and use the jewelry. This study of design would not only use the company's solid technology, but would also improve the competitiveness in the new and differentiated jewelry industry. It would serve as the opportunity to overcome the difficulties due to continued economic depression, as well as improving the brand awareness.
