Effect of Entrepreneurship Education on Psychological Characteristics and Entrepreneurial Attitude of Chinese University Students

[Purpose] The aim of this paper is to ascertain empirically the educational effect on psychological characteristics and entrepreneurial attitude of Chinese university students, as an exploratory study. [Methodology] Hierarchical multiple regression analysis was employed to analyze the data. Total 216 university students participated in the study from three universities in China. [Findings] Entrepreneurship education has a positive relationship with the psychological characteristics. Psychological characteristics also play a role as a mediator between entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial attitude. Among the five sub-dimensions of psychological characteristics, neither risk-taking propensity nor tolerance for ambiguity were irrelevant to entrepreneurial attitude. [Implications] Entrepreneurship education influences the psychological characteristics of university students significantly, and it helps students build internal and affirmative attitude to entrepreneur and entrepreneurship. So, the efforts for developing effective and practical pedagogy need to be continued in order to build up more entrepreneurial atmospheres.
