아일랜드의 금융시장 발전요인 분석: 펀드산업을 중심으로

This study analyzes the determinants of financial market development in Ireland, centered on Ireland 's fund industry. The main results of this study are summarized as follows. First, Ireland was able to establish a political and social stability base through the 1987 social agreements. This social agreements helped Ireland government lay the foundation for attracting foreign capital for economic development by drawing up consensus among different interest groups on social and economic goals, achieving industrial relations stability and industrial peace. Second, the Ireland government took bold external opening policy and FDI attracting activities, which contributed to raise the financial resources necessary for economic development and to secure the competitiveness of domestic companies. Third, Ireland took full advantage of its proximity to London, the world's largest international financial hub. She established the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) in Dublin and developed it as an international financial center, which would be crucial catalyst for the development of the Irish fund industry. Fourth, since the late 1980s when the development of the fund industry in Europe was still in its early stage, Ireland has actively fostered the fund industry and the back-office industry with high employment effects by utilizing legal support and tax incentives, excellent young labor force, and market- friendly government policies, which led Ireland to the center of the global fund industry.
