일하는 한국노인에 대한 탐색과 일의 경제상태 만족도에 대한 영향

현재 한국은 인구고령화가 심화됨에 따라 노인들의 삶의 질이 화두로 대두되었다. 동시에 노인의 삶의 질과 만족도 문제는 이들의 경제적 빈곤과 관련이 있으며 이로 인해 은퇴 이후에도 일하지 않을 수 없는 현실에 처하게 된다. 이러한 측면에서, 본 연구는 일하는 노인들과 관련된 요인들이 무엇인지, 그리고 현재 일하고 있는 여부가 한국노인의 경제상태 만족도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 고찰하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 한국보건사회연구원에서 실시한 2014년도 노인실태조사 자료를 활용하였다. 투입된 변인에 모두 응답한 총 10,276명을 연구대상자로 기술통계, 로지스틱 회귀분석, 그리고 다중 회귀분석을 실시하여 두 연구문제에 답하고자 하였다. 연구결과로는 첫째, 남성, 65∼74세 연령집단, 읍면부거주자, 교육수준이 낮은 집단, 기혼자녀와 비동거자, 주관적 건강상태가 높을수록 현재 일하는 여부의 오즈비가 높았다. 둘째, 일을 하고 있는 경우가 그렇지 않은 경우에 비해 경제상태 만족도가 유의미하게 높았으나 그 영향력은 크지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과로부터 65세 이상의 노인들의 경제상태 만족도를 높이기 위한 정책이 제언되었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the factors that determine who is working and factors that affect economic life satisfaction among Korean older adults. To achieve this purpose, the study used data conducted by Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs(KIHASA) in 2014. It selected participants aged 65 and over who answered all questions. The total number of cases are 10,276 and dependent variables are ‘working or not’ and ‘economic life satisfaction.’ The study analyzed data by running logistic and multiple regressions. Those who are male, 65-74 age group, living in a rural area, having a spouse, lower level of education, not living with married children, higher level of self-rated health were currently working. In addition, self-rated health and working positively affected economic life satisfaction. However, working did not have a huge impact on economic life satisfaction compared to self-rated health. In order to improve the economic life satisfaction among Korean older adults, not only is increasing the number of jobs important, but the quality of jobs should be guaranteed in the future.
