In this paper, the idea of ​​Catholic natural law is reviewed and the attitudes of the Protestant Reformers on natural law after the Reformation are examined. After examining the limitations of the natural law thoughts of Protestant Reformers, the possibility of Protestant Natural Law thought has been tried, which is claimed by religious Reformers and various theologians and legal philosophers. Protestant Reformers often protest against Catholicism, claiming that they are against the natural law, which is one of the foundations of Catholic legal thought and social ethics. Luther did and many successors followed him. In recent years, Barth, Ellul, Yoder and Hauerwas have been urging the separation between church and world without constructing bridge. However, they overlooked that there must be connection between the church and the world. Natural law perception exists both in the church and in the world. Catholic natural law thought focused on general revelation, but Protestant law thought relied on special revelation. However, from the time of the Reformation, some Reformers had positive attitude on the existence of the natural law as a general revelation and admitted the residual cognitive ability after the Fall in some degree. The need for Protestant natural law thought will be increased in many legal area. I hope that this study will become a common ground for further dialogue with Catholicism in the future and achieve harmonious coexistence with other religions or other legal thoughts and theories.
