우리나라의 고미술품(古美術品) 거래에 관련된 문제점과 그 개선방안

Currently, the market of Korea‘s old fine art pieces is on the verge of collapse. This appears to be contradictory to the Korean government's policy considerations to develop cultural industry. Also, this is not helpful for achieving Korea's objective to become a culturally influential nation. On the basis of realizing this serious situation concerning trading of Korea's old fine art pieces, this article deals with the following three issues. First, this article demonstrates that Korea's old fine art pieces have gained internationally renowned fame and value. These Korea's old fine art pieces include celadons and Boonchung ceramics, paintings, and calligraphy. Second, this article points out a few problems related to transactions of Korea's old fine art pieces. These problems include repetitive fake scandals, deficiency of trustworthy appraisal institutions, and the lack of statutory provisions on regulating distribution order with respect to trading of old fine art pieces. Third, this article makes a few suggestions to fix these problems. These suggestions include, among other things, establishing trustworthy appraisal institutions, providing for statutory provisions on regulating distribution order with respect to trading of old fine art pieces, and reinforcing education of Korean people about the precious value of Korea's old fine art pieces.
