고등학교 지식재산교육의 현황 및 과제

The ‘Introduction to Intellectual Property’ curriculum was established in 2015 and started to apply to high schools in 2018. However, there are problems in the curriculum. First, even though the subject name is ‘Introduction to Intellectual Property’, the curriculum are developed focused on the patent rights. Second, several achievement standards are not appropriate for high school teachers’ and learners’ levels. In 2017, the operation of 9 model schools turned out that it is resonable to run the subject at least four-hour system per year and the lack of regular classes could be compensated through extra-curricular activities. In 2018, the Government designated 22 schools as IP leading schools throughout the nation, in which 14 schools(64%) ran the subject with four-hour per year. The survey showed that teachers had difficulty in carrying out convergence education due to the shortage of teaching hours, and in applying IP project based learning methods. Finally, three current tasks are discussed for the dissemination of intellectual property education in high schools; 1) development of teacher training programs, 2) development of IP project based teaching and learning methods, and 3) revision of the content system and achievement standards of curriculum for IP education by life cycle.
