Development of Reuse Lighting Design in terms of Resource Recycling

초록

(Background and Purpose) The purpose of this study was the street lamps have been planned based on flashy lighting with extreme high intensity of illumination and visual clutter causing the distraction even in the food alleys, the intersection of conventional marketplace and stores bustling overpopulating with people, although the lighting would need to be felt familiar to the passers-by Thus, this study was intended to identify current problems of current lighting and revamp it so as to redesign the lighting in such a way that it can create the alleyways that the visitors, who had visited this marketplace in this region over the last few years, could find familiar and comfortable with. For that, it would be meaningful to improve currently old lighting environment, adjust the illumination and revitalize the market, thus re-planning them into novel designs. (Method) For the design methods necessary in this study, we will set the basic course of design for investigating and analyzing practical cases of lighting design refurbishment in Korea and abroad which involved the reuse of raw materials, and furthermore, set and apply the design concept of the reuse design by looking into current status of design revamp and environment refurbishment for this lighting design, pursuing the new lighting based on presentation and security lamps. (Results) The LED presentation and security lamps, the results of this study, used the presentation lighting that featured the shape of stars and moon on the existing security lamps, but made improvement by eliminating the control problem. They were transformed into new lighting through the process of recombination. For that, we collected all LED lamps creating the shape of stars and moon, which were used on existing 19 poles. After washing these those LED lamps, we reassembled and rearranged them, applied the paint to existing poles in colors blending harmoniously with those of the surrounding area, and additionally made the steel frame structures supporting the star and moon lighting, and then connected them together. It was achieved by the dimming effect causing natural variation of color in a way that suited the passage of time, along with the adjustment of speed (Conclusions) It would be necessary to make efforts to create the resource recycling system constantly based on the realization that the products at the end of life can be also turned into valuable resources, rather than being discarded, even in this era of mass production and mass consumption. Converting the discarded materials into resources would bring significant benefits to the society and economy. Thus, this study would provide the basis for exploring the measures necessary to develop the recycling system of materials which would enable constant management of waste resources through all process of dismantling, collection, transportation, etc.
