The Effect of Regional Culture Level on the Quality of Life of Residents

본 연구의 목적은 지역별 문화수준의 차이가 주민 삶의 질에 미치는 영향을 실증함으로써 삶의 질에 대한 문화적요인의 효과를 살펴보는 것이다. 지역별 문화수준의 차이를 살펴보기 위해 5개의 변수(문화예산, 문화시설, 문화활동, 문화인력, 문화향유)를 설정하였으며, 실증분석을 위해 경기도 31개 시군을 대상으로 각 변수가 삶의 질에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 문화수준 외에 삶의 질에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 외생변수인 소득, 교육, 건강, 공동체, 민주적참여, 안전, 나이, 성별, 인구를 통제하여 다중회귀분석(multiple regression analysis)을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 경기도 시군별 문화예산, 문화시설, 문화활동, 문화향유는 주민의 삶의 질에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나, 문화인력은 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 문화예산의 비중이 높을수록, 그리고 문화시설 수가 많을수록 주민 삶의 질은 높게 나타났으며, 문화 활동과 문화향유를 더 하는 주민일수록 삶의 만족도가 높게 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 다음과 같은 정책적 시사점을 제공한다. 먼저, 지역정책에 있어서 문화예산 및 문화 인프라 확대의 근거 자료로 활용이 가능하다. 문화예산, 문화 인프라, 문화 활동 같은 문화적 여건을 풍부하게 제공하는 것이 경기도민의 삶의 질을 높이기 위한 효과적인 수단이 될 수 있기 때문이다. 다음으로 문화시설과 삶의 질 간의 관계를문화시설 만족도가 매개한다는 결과는 단순히 외적인 문화시설의 제공 뿐 아니라 문화시설을 만족하게 하는 질적인차원에서의 운영과 관리가 중요하다는 시사점을 제공하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the direct influence of culture on quality of life by identifying the effect of cultural level differences on the quality of life of residents in Gyeonggi-do. For this, the dependent variables were set "quality of life" for the 31 cities of Gyeonggi-do, independent variables were set cultural policy, cultural workforce, cultural activities, cultural infrastructure, culture enjoyment, and multiple regression analysis was conducted. As a result, the proportion of cultural budgets, number of cultural facilities, participation rate of cultural activities, and cultural enjoyment were found to have an influence on the quality. On the other hand, the number of culture-related businesses and organizations did not appear to have any effect. These results can be used as a logical basis for expanding cultural policies and cultural budgets, and it has been proved that the cultural level needs to be strengthened in order to improve the quality of life of Gyeonggi-do. In addition, it will contribute to the establishment of an optimal cultural policy direction for each city of Gyeonggi-do.
