지속가능한 사회-기술적 시스템 전환에 대한 연구 : 한국의 전기자동차 사례를 중심으로

This paper aims to discuss empirical findings for the innovation process of electric vehicles in Korea from the long-term perspective between 1992 and now. In particular, the socio-technical system transition for sustainable development is investigated. This paper suggests how the regime shift can be facilitated by creating technological niches, such as electric vehicles (protected spaces) and that the technological niches evolve by responding to market niches and changing social and technical systems. In order to elaborate this paper, first, we describe and demonstrate the transition formation, in which replacing the incumbent industry is replaced by the sustainable technology (i.e. EVs). Second, we analyse the internal transition process of the electric vehicles, which is niche-regime interaction such as learning, networking, vision, and relationship between a government, automakers and related components companies, R&D groups, and so on. Third, this paper emphasizes the role of innovation policy in the innovation journey of the development of Korean EVs. Based on our analyses, we can provide some implications for fostering sustainable technologies to the social and technological systems. In addition, we can identify various promising technologies and those research directions for transition studies.
