A Cross-cultural Study of Entrepreneurship between Korean and Japanese University Students: Effects of Role Models on Entrepreneurial Capacity and Entrepreneurial Motivation

초록

[Purpose]The aim of this paper is to explore difference in entrepreneurship between Korean and Japanese university students, focused on the effects of role models on entrepreneurial capacity and entrepreneurial motivation. [Methodology]The multiple regression was employed for estimating technique based on PASW Statistic 18 package. Total 454 university students participated in this study from both countries(224 from Korea, 230 from Japan). [Findings]Role models have a positive relationship with both entrepreneurial motivation and entrepreneurial capacity of university students in Korea and Japan. Entrepreneurial capacity also gives positive impact on entrepreneurial motivation, too. [Implications]Role models can be a critical predictor as well as meaningful promoter for fostering entrepreneurship of university students, regardless of geographical and cultural differences.
