청탁금지법의 한우산업에 대한 영향 분석

The effect of the enactment of Improper Solicitation and Graft Act on Hanwoo industry was analyzed by using the VAR model. We analyzed the out of sample prices that were not affected by the Act, and compared them with the actual prices. Drops were found for both farmgate and wholesale prices, which can negatively affect the management performances of farms. The retail prices, however, were not directly correlated with the farmgate and wholesale prices due to the elevated marketing costs, which in turn can shrink the Hanwoo market drastically. Overall the enactment of the Act resulted in a great reduction of the Hanwoo demand. However, the data studied was collected over only 1 year, and therefore further observation is necessary to provide more authoritative conclusion on the effect of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act on the Hanwoo market.
