아동중심놀이치료로 접근한 이혼가정 아동의 놀이주제 분석-BETPT의 9가지 요인을 중심으로

본 연구의 목적은 아동중심놀이치료로 접근한 이혼가정 아동 사례에 대해 Hillmann의 Benedict‘s Expanded Themes in Play Therapy(BETPT) 9가지 요인에 따라 놀이주제를 분석하여 이혼가정아동에게서 보이는 놀이주제의 특성을 파악하고, 진행단계별 놀이주제의 양상과 흐름을 살펴봄으로써 아동중심놀이치료를 통한 아동의 변화를 확인하여 놀이주제 분석이 아동중심놀이치료의 근거기반 실천에 기여함을 밝히는 것이다. 이를 위해 초등학교 1학년에 재학중인 이혼가정의 남아를대상으로 총 46회의 아동중심놀이치료를 실시하였다. 연구 방법으로 BETPT의 9가지 놀이주제 요인을 중심으로 놀이주제를 분석하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 아동의 놀이주제는 임파워먼트/자기통제의 상실, 불확실성/상실, 안전, 공격/자기로부터 보호의 요인의 순서로 많이 나타났다. 둘째, 놀이치료 단계별 놀이주제의 변화 과정에 일정한 흐름이 있었다. 본 연구대상 아동의 놀이 주제의 변화 과정은 혼돈과 절망의 상태에서 점차 긍정적인 요소가 나타나며 양가적인 분열의 형태 바뀌었고 이후 불확실성/상실의 부정적 요소가 나타나지만 위험에서 구조하고 보호하며 긍정적 유대가주를 이루는 형태로 변화하였다. 셋째, 아동중심놀이치료가 진행되는 과정에서 본 연구대상 아동의 주 호소문제가 어느 정도 완화되거나 해소되었다. 이에 본 연구는 아동중심놀이치료로 접근한이혼가정 아동의 놀이주제 분석을 통해 치료의 효과를 확인하여 아동중심놀이치료의 근거기반을마련하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
Abstract
Employing play themes to describe play sessions contents and the underlying play therapy process is important for evidence based practice in child-centered play therapy. In this article, a child with divorced parents was intervened in child-centered play therapy for 46 sessions and the play themes were analyzed with the nine factors of Benedict’s Expanded Themes in Play Therapy(BETPT) to identify specific play contents and the underlying process of play themes change in play therapy. As a result of this study, the major play theme factors are Empowerment/Loss of self-control, Uncertainty/Loss, Safety, and Attack/Protect from self. This study found the specific process of change in play sessions by the analysis of play themes. Moreover, the child’s emotional and behavioral problems decreased in the play therapy sessions. This study has a great deal of significance in that the analysis of play themes helps child-centered play therapy to identify what works for whom and when in play sessions.
